A Poison Tree by William Blake
I was angry with my friend;
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe:
I told it not, my wrath did grow.
And I waterd it in fears,
Night and morning with my tears:
And I sunned it with smiles,
And with soft deceitful wiles.
And it grew both day and night,
Till it bore an apple bright.
And my foe beheld it shine,
And he knew that it was mine.
And into my garden stole.
When the night had veiled the pole;
In the morning glad I see,
My foe outstretchd beneath the tree.
CLUTTER
I was angry with my good friend;
I told my wrath I was angry and my wrath did end right away.
I was angry with my foe, a guy I really hate you know:
I told it not, my wrath did grow and grow and grow.
And I watered it in showers of fears,
Night and morning and afternoon with my tears:
And I sunned it with sunny smiles,
And with soft deceitful wily wiles.
And it grew and grew both day and night,
Till it bore an apple all shiny and bright.
And my foe, this guy I'm pissed at, beheld it shining,
And he knew that it was mine, my anger apple.
And into my garden he crept and stole over the chainlink fence,
When the night had veiled the pole with darkness,
In the morning man was I glad when I could see,
My foe outstretched beneath the anger apple tree, dead as a doornail. Ha!
ENHANCE
I was angered, and told my wrath, and my wrath ended;
I was angry, and stayed silent, and my wrath grew and grew and
I watered it in showers, night and morning with sunshine and smiles and deceit
It grew both day and night.
It bore an apple, shining and bright.
And my foe saw it shining, and knowing it was mine,
Came to steal it, and died.
BABEL (FRENCH)
I was irritated, and said my anger, and my finished anger;
I stays annoyed, and remained quiet, and my anger is developed and is developed and
I sprinkled in the showers, the night and the morning with the sun and the smiles and deception
It raised every both day and night.
It annoys an apple, shining and luminous.
And my enemy l saw shining, and to know it was mine,
Came to steal it, and died.
CONTROL
I was irritated with anger.
I was annoyed, and stayed quiet.
My anger developed;
Sprinkling, showering, night and morning
In the sun, with the smiles, the deception grew.
Every day and night, it grew shining and luminous.
Like my enemy, shining,
Who knows it is mine, and steals it, and dies.
